Deposition video synchronization

Every line of testimony, on its moment in the video.

Send the certified transcript and the deposition video. DepoCoder matches every line to the second it was spoken, a person checks the flagged lines, and you get back files ready for OnCue, TrialDirector and Sanction.

Priced per hour of video. No subscription, no account to set up.

Why DepoCoder

Built around how depositions actually arrive

Several video files, a PDF instead of an ASCII transcript, a witness who comes back for a second day. It is all routine here.

PAGE:LINE ACCURATE

Checked by a person

Speech recognition does the first pass. Lines it is unsure about are flagged, and we review them against the audio before anything goes back to you.

MEDIA 1 OF 4

Multi-file depositions

A full day often comes as several video files. They are synced in order as one deposition, and every line knows which file it lives in.

PDF → ASCII

PDF transcripts welcome

No ASCII file? We convert the certified PDF to a clean page-and-line ASCII transcript, and give you that file too.

AUDIO ONLY

Your video stays with you

Our free uploader pulls just the audio out of your videos, about 14 MB per hour, and seals it with the transcript in one encrypted file.

13 FORMATS

One package, ready to load

OnCue, TrialDirector, Sanction, DepoView XML, caption files and more, all from the same sync. Need a re-export later? It is on us.

SAME WITNESS

Multiple deposition dates

When a witness is deposed again, the new date is added under the same witness so volumes stay together and numbered.

How it works

  4. Us

    Sync and review

Every line is matched to the audio, flagged lines are checked by hand, and corrections are made.

  5. You

    Load and play

Open the package in OnCue or TrialDirector, or hand it to the attorney with the free Viewer.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need a subscription or an account?

No. You pay per hour of video you send. Uploads go through a secure link and do not need an account.

Which video formats do you accept?

The usual deposition formats, including MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 (.mpg), MP4, MOV, WMV and AVI. With DepoCoder Send, only the audio is uploaded, so the video format rarely matters.

What if the deposition is split across several video files?

Add all of them in order (for example Media 1 of 4 through 4 of 4). They are synced as one deposition and exported that way.

We only have a PDF transcript. Is that a problem?

No. We convert the PDF to a standard page-and-line ASCII transcript first, and you get that file as well.

How do I load the result into OnCue?

Import the .mdb file from the package and copy the video files into the case's synchronized video folder. File names are kept exactly as they were.

Can attorneys without trial software watch it?

Yes. The free DepoCoder Viewer for Windows and Mac plays the video with the transcript, and lets them search, highlight and export clips.

Who can open the files I upload?

Only us. Packages are encrypted on your computer with our public key, and only our private key can unlock them.

Can we get better rates for a large volume?

Yes. Firms and reporting agencies sending 100 or more hours a year get volume pricing. Get in touch with your expected volume.
